The work doesn’t stop the day you sign the lease. Between the signing and the actual move-in, you’ve got electricity to transfer, internet to schedule, insurance to bind, and possibly movers to book. Each one of those is a small task. Stacked together, they eat your weekend.
We bundle them into one workflow so you can spend that weekend packing instead.
What the Concierge Covers
Electricity & Utilities
Texas’s deregulated power market means you pick your retail electricity provider. The cheapest plan on a comparison site isn’t always the cheapest for your actual usage pattern. We help you pick a plan that fits — fixed-rate vs variable, contract length, free-nights vs all-day, deposit waivers if your credit doesn’t qualify.
For water, gas, and trash, your community usually handles it (or it’s bundled with rent). We confirm what’s covered and what you need to set up.
Internet
We send you the available providers at your new address — Xfinity, AT&T Fiber, Verizon 5G Home, T-Mobile Home Internet, plus newer options — with current promo rates and contract terms. If your community has a bulk-internet deal, we explain whether that’s actually a good deal compared to your alternatives.
Renters Insurance
Most Houston communities require a policy with $100,000 in liability coverage. Solid policies run $10-$15/month for basic coverage and $20-$25/month for premium. We can recommend reputable providers and walk you through what coverage levels make sense for your stuff.
Movers & Truck Rental
Need full-service movers? We have Houston movers we’ve worked with who don’t gouge on game-day pricing. Prefer to DIY? We’ll send you current rates from U-Haul, Penske, and Budget for the truck size that fits your apartment.
Day-One Setup Order
Here’s the order we recommend so your first night is smooth:
- 2 weeks before: Transfer electricity, request internet install, bind renters insurance
- 1 week before: Confirm movers (or book truck), submit final walkthrough request to community
- Day of: Final walk through with leasing office, get keys, confirm utility activation
- Night of: Power on, water flowing, fridge running, beds assembled
The Free Model — Same as Everything Else
We don’t bill you for the concierge work. Several of our referral partners (some insurance and internet companies) pay us a small commission if you sign up through us, but you pay the same rate either way. We only recommend providers we’d use ourselves.
